Please...not the H1N1...

So I woke up Saturday morning....the 11th...after a perfectly lovely 10th of July, celebrating the end of the week with family and friends..

Except? On the morning of the 11th? There was this blowtorch to my trachea...no kidding...I could barely breathe, let alone swallow.

My first thought? Please don't let it be the H1N1....because, you know, its kind of lethal, and I'd really rather not go out this way.

Y'all. Illness ensued. As in...I could barely move, let alone cough, sneeze, turn in bed, whatever.
It felt like my life blood had been sucked right outa me, and I was this..'being'...in bed...paralysed and sick as sh*t.

Not. I repeat...NOT fun.

On the Monday (the 13th) I got out of bed determernined to go to work....yeah...right... Make -up was on, clothes were on, and I was short of breath and freaking praying to the gods/goddesses that I could drive to work. Thankfully, with the voice of reason, dear husband S. gently suggested I call 'M', my colleague, and "call in sick for christ's sake"..and of course 'M' was all.."stay at home...and don't come back till you're better!"

And no kidding....I don't really remember Monday...It was all a haze of, 'Headline News' when I was conscious, dogs barking when Stewart came home for lunch and then after work, and apart from that? I must've been in a deep, deep, 'fluey' sleep.

Today...Tuesday? I still felt like sh*t....but knowing how things build up at work I opted to go in. And um...the next symptom? Crusty, itchy, 'virally' eyes? Great.....but no matter.... by about 3pm I was beginning to turn around, and despite not being able to wear contacts, I was able to function in a reasonable manner, and hopefully, (hopefully..) things are turning around.

Hate being under the weather. Hate it. Let's hope for a 'normal' tomorrow.

Oh Lisa, I hate it, too. I hope you're better soon. No tamiflu?
